The staff of the Birthing Center is pleased to offer a series of three consecutive classes to help prepare you and your partner for childbirth at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center.
>> Childbirth 101 - Having A Baby - Whether a first-time parent or a veteran, attending this class will help you understand the stages of labor, comfort and relaxation techniques, and the management of normal labor and birth. BRING A PILLOW. Part one of a three part series.
Childbirth 102 - Labor & Birth - Become informed about the many variations and issues concerning labor and delivery from back labor to cesarean births. Comfort, relaxation and breathing patterns are continued from Class 101. Interventions such as pain medications, epidurals, labor induction and other procedures will also be discussed. BRING A PILLOW. Part two of a three part series.
Childbirth 103 - Survival Skills - After baby is born, you'll experience many physical and emotional changes that affect you and your partner. Learn how to handle these overwhelming feelings of parenthood, and what role the whole family plays. A brief review of the prior classes will be give. BRING A PILLOW. Part three of a three part series.

"Know Your Stats" about prostate cancer is an education campaign geared towards men 40 years and older to encourage them to talk to their doctors about their PSA score, what it means, why it’s important to have a regular physical exam, and what the latest treatment options are.
Guest speakers will include urologists Kyle Himsl, M.D. and Jim Pero, M.D., who will discuss the importance of knowing your PSA score, the score’s significance, treatment options for prostate cancer, and the latest minimally invasive treatment: the da Vinci Robotic surgical System. In addition, the da vinci robot will be on display for participants to try their own skills at operating the da Vinci robot.

We have designed this special class to help big sisters and big brothers prepare for the new baby's arrival. Our parenting expert explains to the children what to expect when mom goes to the hospital, and then brings the baby home. An adult must attend with the child. Suggested age for children in 2.5 - 5 years. Pre-registration is required. No charge. Two sessions are available on days course is offered: 9:00 am or 10:15 am.
